benik solutions ("benik", "we", "us" or "our") is a technology company based in Lagos, Nigeria that builds intelligent business software, including SchoolMind AI and our other products. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data collected through our website at getbenik.com and the enquiry, demo and contact features on it.

This policy is written to be consistent with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "NDPA") and any regulations or guidance issued by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission ("NDPC").

Scope of this policy

This policy covers our marketing website and general business communications. Personal data that we process on behalf of a customer inside one of our products (for example, the pupil, staff and payment records held in a school’s SchoolMind AI account) is governed by that product’s own privacy policy and by our agreement with that customer, who is the data controller for such data.

• Your name, email address, phone number, company or school name, role and country when you book a demo, submit a contact form or otherwise message us;
• The content of your enquiries and any correspondence with us.

• Interactions with our live-chat widget.

Some of our service providers may store or process data outside Nigeria. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection consistent with the NDPA, including through appropriate contractual safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

Subject to the NDPA, you have the right to request access to your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the NDPC.

Security
